You do not get to look at the top card of the main deck until after you have paid the 3 Energy to gain the card. You may use this ability multiple times when you play the card, but each use costs you 3 Energy from your total for the turn. To use this ability, simply subtract 3 Energy from your total for the turn and then gain the top card of the main deck. If you choose not to use this ability, Catalyst Weekend grants you +1 Energy for the turn.
